Last Friday, we had the incredible opportunity to visit one of our longtime partners, Wölffer Estate Vineyard, in Sagaponack, New York—a place that holds a special place in our hearts and on our shelves. Broadway Spirits has proudly carried Wölffer wines for over 12 years, including their signature Summer in a Bottle Rosé, Table Rosé, and Wölffer Cider. But this visit was unlike any other.
What made this trip unforgettable was our private tour with assistant winemaker Luca Messana, who gave us an insider’s look at the heart of Wölffer. We didn’t just stroll through the vines—we learned how their wines are made, explored behind-the-scenes production areas, and got an education on their approach to quality and creativity.
Luca walked us through every step of their winemaking process, explaining how each decision—from fermentation to barrel aging—shapes the final product. He also gave us a peek at a few experimental bottles the team has crafted just for fun—projects not available to the public, but still crafted with the same care and passion.
We sipped Summer in a Bottle with a spread of cheeses while overlooking the vineyards, soaking in the landscape that makes this winery so iconic. And in the barrel room, we spotted a fun little surprise—Rihanna’s signature on one of the barrels from her visit with A$AP Rocky last winter. Just a cool detail that added to the magic of the day.
This wasn’t just a tasting—it was a celebration of the relationship we’ve built with Wölffer over the past decade. It’s moments like these that remind us why we do what we do: to connect with the stories, the people, and the craft behind every bottle.
