Description
Château Reynon was the home estate of our friend Denis Dubourdieu, noted enologist and professor at the University of Bordeaux, who passed away in 2016. A longtime CW favorite, and this 2015 is one of his best.
Wine Advocate: 89-91 Points
The 2015 Reynon has a vivacious blackberry and Morello cherry scented bouquet that pops up nicely from the glass. The palate is medium-bodied with firm, slightly gritty tannin. I like the structure here and with appreciable substance, I can see this repaying those with the nous to cellar this Premier Côtes de Bordeaux.
Vinous: 89 Points
The 2015 Reynon is gorgeous. Attractive floral notes add perfume to a core of racy red cherry and plum fruit in this soft, open-knit Merlot-based wine from the late Denis Dubourdieu. Plush and caressing on the palate, with silky tannins, Reynon is a winner in 2015. The blend is 81% Merlot, 13% Petit Verdot and 6% Cabernet Sauvignon. Don't miss it.
