"Oenothera" from Chateau des Crès Ricards is made of grapes from 84% more than 30-years-old selected Syrah vines Syrah and 16% more than 40-years-old Grenache vines. The grapes are grown in terrace plantings of calcareous soil with round stones on the surface. The grapes are cool-macerated with regular stirring for 16-22 days after the harvest. The wine is then fermented for 17 days. The finalized wine is aged for one year in oak barrels.

An intense ruby red color with deep violet hues. The aroma has balsamic hints of pine, menthol and of minerality, like the scent of the pebble-covered soil of the terraced plantations. A fresh and at the same time full-bodied palate of ripe black berries. Round tannins, but the oak storage has left its mark. A long final with hints of blackberry and chocolate. A wine to drink now and a couple of years forward to tasty or spicy food .
